Reblog if you’re old enough to remember when Tom Hanks was inducted into the ‘Five Timers Club’.

“…and we invented the Industrial Revolution along the way. Investing in science is vital to our future.” - Brian Cox With painful budget cuts facing the entire spectrum of public spending, it’s more important than ever to keep in mind just how much economic benefit a little investment in science can have. Midwest Research Institute studies found that every federal dollar spent on NASA returned 7 into the economy. A study by the Space Division of Rockwell International also found that NASA’s space shuttle program had an employment multiplier of 2.8—for every man-year of employment directly created by the Shuttle program, 2.8 man-years of total employment was generated. NASA has shown time and again that an investment in space is also an investment in the future and in America as a whole. Not only does NASA research benefit the country economically, it inspires us to dream and drives generations into STEM fields like nothing else. Tiny Goat Studio / Blog: This just launched: A new look for the Goats

Yes this is my company. Yes I am basically reblogging myself. This is, as the kids say, how I roll. (Serously, we’re really proud of this new site and we’re looking forward to a continued good year. Hope yours is good too. How’re the kids, etc.)

tinygoatstudio:

Tiny Goat Studio - a Richmond, VA studio built by a designer who loves to code and a coder who loves design. The results? Beautifully crafted pixels, responsive design and coffee. Lots of coffee.

We want to show you how we can solve your problem, design your brand and build your project…

Important things

The little bodega down the street is run by a really nice family who may be from Tunisia? Not sure. Anyway, like any self respecting bodega they buy, say, 90% of the stuff they sell from Costco.

Anyway, their toilet paper is pretty fucking on point.

Bands I’ve heard in the coffee shop today

The one that sounds like Wire, the one that sounds like The Velvet Underground, the one that sounds like Stereolab, the one that sounds like the one that sounds like Fugazi, and Fugazi.

Then they played TV On The Radio, which made me feel like I heard someone speaking English in a crowded bazaar. Only the bazaar was in Portland.

This is Ike. We brought him home today after several months of visiting dogs at the ASPCA shelter here, trying to figure out what type of dog was good for us and our respective kids.

Personally I can’t wait until my Z meets Ike.

He’s incredibly good natured, but young. He doesn’t know much yet, but I’m willing to invest some time. He’s very loving and trusting. And he currently can’t figure out (a) stairs, (b) couches, (c) beds, or, (d) clothes hampers.

Welcome home, buddy.

“Apparently before Jed had left us, he wrote some poems.”

Jed is a depressed android. This whole record is about him and computers. Grandaddy FTW.
